Next Wave is proud to launch its latest publication, the TEXT CAMP Reader.
Edited by Rosemary Forde and designed by Chase & Galley, the TEXT CAMP Reader features written responses to over twenty 2008 Next Wave Festival projects by emerging writers.
The launch of the TEXT CAMP Reader will take place at Hell Gallery, Richmond, Thursday evening, 31st July.
TEXT CAMP, presented by Next Wave as part of the 2008 Next Wave Festival, in association with Express Media and UN Projects, provided opportunities for 11 emerging writers to work with and learn from two established writers (Rosemary Forde and Nicholas Low), to build networks and contribute to critical and creative discourse around the 2008 Next Wave Festival, and contemporary art practice more broadly.
Comprising two parallel teaching streams, which explored either creative writing or critical writing methods, TEXT CAMP explored the many ways that artworks and performance projects can be responded to through writing.
The featured writers in the TEXT CAMP Reader are Holly Childs, Jared Davis, Jessica Friedmann, Katie Furlonger, Alana Hunt, Leon Goh, Ruth McIver, Elise Routledge, Mickie Skelton, Thomasin Sleigh and Kate Warren.
The TEXT CAMP Reader looks and reads great, and next Thursday’s launch at Hell Gallery will feature special one-off artworks and performances, as well as a free bar with sausage sizzle (gold-coin donation muchly appreciated).
