/// Next Wave’s TEXT CAMP, now open
Applications are now open for TEXT CAMP, a writing mentorship program for emerging arts writers as part of the 2008 Next Wave Festival.
TEXT CAMP will be a three-stage program that will involve a workshop, a mentorship and a publication outcome. TEXT CAMP will help emerging writers build networks and will contribute to the critical and creative discourse surrounding the 2008 Next Wave Festival this May.
Applications close 5pm, Fri 14 March 2008.

Taking over a dilapidated warehouse in Collingwood, this pseudo gallery/shop will be open as part of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and run until 9 March.
Featuring art by Next Wave’s very own Mel Upton, and a performance by the Roller Grooves, staring Next Waver Tai Snaith.

Trouble on Planet Earth – Control the play.
Next Wave artists Matthew Kneale and Dan Koerner have collaborated with The Border Project to create this new performance work for the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Each audience member has a controller that allows you to choose the direction of the story, events and characters’ actions all in real time. This work blows apart classic narrative, putting you behind the wheel to genre-hop through this story supermarket.

Bec Reid, Next Wave’s Associate Producer for Dance, has just been nominated for two awards in this year’s Green Room Awards, both in the ‘Best Concept and Realisation in Dance’ category. Bec has been nominated for her work on HOME (together with Stompin’s Artistic Director Luke George), and for 180 Seconds in Heaven or Hell. (180 Seconds returns this year in the 2008 Next Wave Festival in May.)
The Green Room Awards ceremony will take place on 20 April at the Arts Centre, Melbourne.

FULL TILT at the Arts Centre supports the development of new performance work by independent artists and small-medium companies. FULL TILT is now inviting proposals from artists and ensembles seeking support for new projects. Projects can be multi-artform but must be primarily performance-based. Projects also need to have the potential to eventually be performed in or around the Arts Centre’s venues. Approximately 5 – 7 projects will be selected for development between July 2008 – June 2009.
